About the Pomodoro Technique Timer

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into focused 25-minute intervals separated by short breaks.

How It Works

  1. Choose a task to work on
  2. Set the timer for 25 minutes (one "pomodoro")
  3. Work on the task until the timer rings
  4. Take a short 5-minute break
  5. After 4 pomodoros, take a longer 15-30 minute break

Benefits

Tips

During each pomodoro, commit to a single task. If an unrelated thought comes to mind, write it down and return to it later. Many people find 25 minutes is the sweet spot, but feel free to experiment with 30, 45, or 50-minute intervals.
